About this book
Apple's iPad and iPad Mini tablets has been an incredible success and generated a lot of interest from photographers. Instead of hauling a laptop along on vacation or to a photo shoot, a photographer can bring the lightweight iPad and take advantage of its large screen, third-party software and online access. The iPad is great for reviewing photos on-site using something other than a camera's small LCD, editing photos, presenting a photographer's portfolio, and more. This fully updated 3rd edition of The iPad Book for Photographers includes full coverage of Adobe Lightroom mobile, your remote link to your full Lightroom library. Also new sections on using apps for cameras with built in Wi-Fi; transferring photos from an iPhone using iPhoto beaming; how to control the camera using the built-in Wi-Fi; and more. It also includes updated coverage for the new versions of iMove, iPhoto, Snapseed, Photogene, PhotoshopTouch, and other apps; as well as an thorough update to the popular Reference chapter. The iPad for Photographers will help novice, intermediate, and pro shooters to: Discover how to make adjustments that remain intact in Lightroom on your computer, including cropping and rotating, editing tone and color, applying presets and previous edits, and much more. Import photos from a camera or memory cards using the iPad Camera Connection Kit or Lightning Camera adapters. Transfer photos by wireless while you’re shooting, using Wi-Fi–enabled SD cards or adapters, or control the camera remotely with the CamRanger. Organize and rate images and assigning tags in the field, and integrating them later with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom on your computer. Edit photos with iPhoto, Adobe Photoshop Touch, and other image adjustment tools. Use portfolio software to create and deliver impressive iPad presentations for prospective clients. Share photos with others immediately via online photo sites, Apple TV, and more. Edit video clips in iMovie, create slideshows, and more. In this fully updated guide, photographers will learn even more clever uses for their iPad including backing up photos in the field, using the screen as a fill flash, calculating depth of field, tracking outdoor light conditions, and other handy at-your-fingertip resources to complement your particular shooting style. IMPORTANT - This will NOT stream iTunes purchased videos to you iPad or iPhone

1/5 Thank you all - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seagate Wireless Plus 1TB Portable Hard Drive with Built-in WiFi (STCK1000100) (Personal Computers) IMPORTANT - This will NOT stream iTunes purchased videos. This is what I spent hours to learn and Seagate has well hidden on their website. There is a glitch that does not let you play movies purchased on iTunes using this device. It that is why you are buying this than my brief review will save you the countless hours of trying to get something to work that does not.If you want to convert non iTunes purchases from other formats to m4p than yes it will work but if you are like most of us who have run out of space on your iPad and need more room for video this will not work.If you find this useful please vote for this. I wish I had read this review prior to purchase, it would have saved me a lot of trouble. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 21, 2015

Amazing product, but avoid the official Media App

Amazing product! However, avoid the official Media App... look for alternatives. The good:- Portable. Very good looking drive, strong and well built. It's as tall as an iPhone 5S, but anout 50% wider.- Simple. The box includes the HD, a usb cable and a wall adapter for charging. Loading files is drag and drop simple.- Versatile. In remote environments you can connect your tablet, phone or computer to the device directly. Alternatively you can connect the device to an existing wifi connection and have access to all of your files in the device while maintaining internet connectivity. The Bad:- The official Seagate Media App is awful. It's a nightmare to use if you have a large media collection as it basically scans all your media and displays all of it in just four folders (music, video, photos, documents). There are no filters, and very limited metadata use. If you have 5000 songs, it will basically display a folder with 5000 files sorted... 5/5 Moralec (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Works fairly well for my needs.

<Update 1/2016 - I still use this as a normal external USB drive without any issues, but have not used it wirelessly for over 3 years now, not because it does not work, but because I have not had the need to do so.><Update 1/2014 - I currently use a Microsoft Surface Pro 2 for all my portable computing and video needs, so I seldom use this drive as a wireless drive anymore. I mostly just plug it into my SP2 via USB and play my FHD WTV files to avoid the throughput problem and no longer need to bother with charging the battery anymore. In truth, using it as a wireless device for our Android phones was more trouble than it was worth, so we seldom actually used it. Too often video would stumble and it just got annoying.><Update 1/2013 - My wife recently purchased the Samsung Note 2 and the Smart Dock and now we only use this as a wired USB hard drive. Since most of what we use it for is watching FHD TV shows, the wireless speed was just not... 4/5 CPAChicago (Chicago) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)
