About this book
A 2002 Logos Association Best Book award winner! Everyone has something to say about Jesus. Sorting through the numerous books of recent years, you may find yourself lost in a thicket of viewpoints, some troubling to faith, some puzzling to the intellect. But John Stott, one of the outstanding evangelical voices of the last half century, offers in The Incomparable Christ an enriching vision of Jesus that defies measurment. In this newly Americanized, paperback edition Stott invites you to view Jesus from four perspectives: The Original Jesus: How the New Testament witnesses to Jesus in the Gospels, Acts and the Letters The Ecclesiastical Jesus: How the church has presented Jesus historically, from Justin Martyr, Benedict and Anselm, to Thomas à Kempis, Martin Luther and Thomas Jefferson, to Gustavo Guitiérrez, N. T. Wright, and the Edinburgh and Lausanne missionary confessions of the twentieth century The Influential Jesus: How people from St. Francis to Tolstoy, from Gandhi to Roland Allen, from Father Damien to William Wilberforce have taken inspiriation from him The Eternal Jesus: How he continually challenges today's men and women through ten visions from the book of Revelation This is the Jesus who is like no other--worthy of your worship, your confession and your obedience as you follow him into the future.

    Bundled Software Unremoveable!

Ok so here's the deal. WD used to sell ordinary hard drives. Good prices. Decent reliability. Just hard drives like everyone else. I own two of the earlier generation 500GB drives and I love them. That was then. Now they think they're "adding value" by including software on the drive for backup and whatnot.Fine.On the 1TB drive, my Mac says over 660 MB is being used for this. You can not erase this data. It appears as a "virtual" CD on the Mac Desktop. The hardware inside the drive protects this virtual CD from being altered in any way.You can run Disk Utility all you want. It won't remove it.WD says it's being "green" by including this on the HD and not a CD.Fine. Admirable. After a lot of customer uproar, they released a utility to HIDE the partition. But you don't get your space back. This partition by the way can "update itself" over the internet.Scared yet?Right now, if you want... 3/5 nicdnyc (Brooklyn, NY USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) A good external drive with a few annoyances

The series of next-generation My Passport (including My Passport SE high capacity versions) drives from WD that have just come out seem to getting a bad rap. The bone of contention is based on two aspects. One is the new micro-USB connector and the second is the WD SmartWare backup & control software that mounts a second drive when you plug these things into your computer.I wavered endlessly after looking at all the bad reviews despite being interested in getting these. In the end, I decided to purchase both a 500 GB and 750 GB model to see for myself. If the product would be unusable, I could simply return it back.Firstly, the SmartWare. It automatically installs a second drive and it apparently cannot be removed or disabled. However, the software does not take up a lot of space. The capacity on the My Passport SE is 697 GB (750 GB formatted, NTFS), and the SmartWare takes up 569 MB if you right-click your mouse and check the drive's properties. That is less... 4/5 M. Sheet!!!

If I could give the d*mned thing negative stars, I would.I purchased this to back up an aging computer whose hard drive was just about maxed out. I had planned on storing my big files (photos, music) on it until I'd purchased a new computer. Then, I'd transfer everything from the Passport to the new computer and life would be wonderful.Good thing I tried to transfer files to a laptop before I did anything irreparable. The d*mned thing won't allow me to download to a different computer!!! I can return files to where they originally lived, but that doesn't do me an ounce of good with a hard drive that's burst its seams.I downloaded updated software. I fiddled. Then, in a last ditch attempt, I called WD support. They put me thru the same paces I'd already done on my own. Still no communication with "alien" computers.AFTER NINETY MINUTES ON THE PHONE WITH WD TECH SUPPORT THE REP FINALLY ADVISED ME TO GIVE UP AND INSTEAD DOWNLOAD DATA... 1/5 Anon (Sitting In Front Of My Computer) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)
