About this book
A 2002 Logos Association Best Book award winner! Everyone has something to say about Jesus. Sorting through the numerous books of recent years, you may find yourself lost in a thicket of viewpoints, some troubling to faith, some puzzling to the intellect. But John Stott, one of the outstanding evangelical voices of the last half century, offers in The Incomparable Christ an enriching vision of Jesus that defies measurment. In this newly Americanized, paperback edition Stott invites you to view Jesus from four perspectives: The Original Jesus: How the New Testament witnesses to Jesus in the Gospels, Acts and the Letters The Ecclesiastical Jesus: How the church has presented Jesus historically, from Justin Martyr, Benedict and Anselm, to Thomas à Kempis, Martin Luther and Thomas Jefferson, to Gustavo Guitiérrez, N. T. Wright, and the Edinburgh and Lausanne missionary confessions of the twentieth century The Influential Jesus: How people from St. Francis to Tolstoy, from Gandhi to Roland Allen, from Father Damien to William Wilberforce have taken inspiriation from him The Eternal Jesus: How he continually challenges today's men and women through ten visions from the book of Revelation This is the Jesus who is like no other--worthy of your worship, your confession and your obedience as you follow him into the future.

    ### PHYSICAL ###One terabyte that fits in your jeans' pocket. I don't want to go all "when we were young we walked 10 miles to school, etc." on you, but my first hard drive was such that I would have needed 50'000 of 'em to match the capacity, occupying a solid cube 9 feet on each side and setting me back 30 million dollars. That's mind- blowing progress indeed, and while the original advances were made by firms like Seagate and IBM, those have mostly sold off/sourced out in the meantime, leaving Western Digital as the Bleeding Edge hard drive brand. This device looks like a cigarette holder with a glossy finish. The edges are rounded, and the usb connector is the only opening in the case, so for my occasional transport I just carry the drive in my jacket as-is. It would have been super- neat to have a rubber flap over the usb and perhaps a more scratch- resistant matte finish, but there is no issue here, especially since WD offers inexpensive... 4/5 Strohmian (New York, NY United States) - See all my reviews, October 21, 2010

    ULTIMATE!

I picked this up from amazon for 50$ before the great Japan Hard Drive Crisis (when the tsunami hit and the power plant melted down). I don't think I could ever fill up this much space and I take photographs DAILY. I have a 8BG card in my cam and at the end of a month or two I put them on this drive. I am nowhere near full or even 25% for that matter. The main reason I bought this one is because it does NOT need an external power supply. Meaning the USB plug that goes to the computer ALSO gives it the power it needs at the same time! It's just a big as a real passport but about two thick. There's a little white light that lets you know if stuff is being transferred. It also stays on constantly if its plugged in so that can be annoying at night because it's so bright it can light an entire room. But when you have 1TB at your fingertips you tend to sleep like a baby even if the light is on!It's not a SSD like most might think. There are moving parts in... 5/5 Castle (Does it matter?) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) WD deserve only one star! I ordered WD My Passport Essential portable external drive in April 2012 from Amazon. I chose WD's portable ext-drive because it came with its own software (WD Smartware) and WD advertise that their software can image your hard-drive for direct reboot. When I got my WD ext-drive I installed the WD Smartware on my Dell laptop to make an image of my laptop's hard drive in case my laptop's hard drive crashes I can boot from WD ext-drive. I even called WD's tech support and had them walk me through the installation for imaging my laptop's hard-drive. The WD Smartware indicated that my entire laptop hard-drive was properly copied. I updated my hard-drive twice a week. In late June 2012 my Dell laptop started having problems. I called WD's tech support and ask them for help. All of a sudden WD's tech support claimed that their software does not do imaging, only saves data files! 2 months earlier they instructed me on how to properly install the WD Smartware for... 1/5 NoName - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)
