About this book
IDC recently confirmed that over 3 million people are currently using Crystal Reports. Crystal Reports is bundled in over 160 products, including those from Microsoft, Oracle, Netscape, and PeopleSoft. Although Crystal Reports is licensed by several more vendors, these vendors do not supply any books or information on using Crystal Reports. Only one other book on the market today explains Crystal Reports, but it is outdated and does not cover any of the new features and components of Crystal Rreports 6.0. This leaves users with a great need for this book to maximize the power of report generation. This book is essential to developing powerful reports and optimizing businesses. Reporting counts for 40-60% of a business's daily operation, yet it is the area that is least looked at to enhance. This book is a must for users who want to push the limits and design their own reports and for developers who want to allow the end user the flexibility of customizing these reports at run time.

    Pleasantly surprised

First off, i was wary of the number of review stars on this drive since A) it's a seagate which seems to get a bad rap as of late, and B) most of the 5-star reviews are vine voice reviews of free products. Over the last year or so i've come to the conclusion that these elite reviewers would rather keep their free stuff coming than provide honest reviews... but who am I to judge... i'd probably do the same.Rant aside, this drive is fast as hell. I was surprised how quickly it comes out of sleep mode (~ 2 seconds vs the 10-15 it takes my old(er) WD 3.0TB drive). I ran a long SMART check that came back clean and i've copied about a TB of stuff over to it. Zero complaints so far... but as others have said, we'll see how it fares in the long-term. If I needed another 5TB right now, I wouldn't hesitate on buying another one of these.Amazon packing was a little sketchy... the air bags stopped the HD from moving horizontally in the box, but not vertically. YES THIS DOES WORK ON THE PS4 for GAMES (Install PS update 4.50)

I bought this hard drive in February when I read that a soon to be released update for the PS4/PS4 PRO would support external hard drives to install games and applications. Then i waited... well that day is today. PS4 received update, I installed this drive, had PS4 format drive (simply follow the prompts) and there you go. You then have a much needed expansion for your games for the PS4. Yes I had already switched to larger internal hard drive quite some time ago. I installed several games to this hard drive today and there was NO issues. No lag, no slowdown, even when in game movies played... ran great.***** IMPORTANT INFO *****You HAVE to have the PS 4.50 update in order to use this drive. If you do not have the 4.50 update installed on your PS4 then this drive nor any other drive will work to install GAMES. You can still use an external hard drive for photos and music before the 4.50 update. Again you HAVE to have the PS 4.50 update to install games to this... 5/5 DBClutch - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Working as intended for PS4.

I bought the 2TB version and it does work with the PS4 (current version 4.50). At first it said it didn't support it but after I restarted my PS4 it worked. Currently works as intended. There's 1.84TB usable after formatting. It took 19 minutes to transfer 3 games (118.3 GB) over from the internal hard drive to this external hard drive. Will update if anything arises.Edit: It had been a little over two months and its still working as intended. To answer a common question:It works out of the box. Literally just plug it into your ps4 go to devices under settings then USB storage devices. It should pop up under there, select it then it will say "Format as extended storage" and select that. The support for external hard drives is absolutely great. If you have a TON of downloadable games then you can simply just have multiple external hard drives and download all you games to them. Then you can just plug in the external hard drive with the game you want and you're... 5/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good choice, but there are better alternatives. DETAILED info for Wii U, PS4, XBOX owners!!

I've often complained about Amazon rating system for tech products and external USB hard drives are great example of the problem. Simply, it's saturated market with lots of viable options, while impact of "picking wrong" is quite profound. You can wake up one day and find out that your data is gone. Reviews here don't help much: you read 1 star review saying "drive arrived dead", then you have 5 star review saying "drive is great". Which one to trust? Especially since I would prefer "dead on arrival" HDD to one that dies after 1 year of working. In my case - now that Nintendo Switch is coming - I wanted to download all digitally purchased games I have for Wii U and store them along with save games on one drive. Testing tech components is a hobby of mine and I've decided to go all in - purchasing 3 external HDD drives so I can test how they work and pick the best one. PS4 Pro

What more do i need to say. Bought it for use on my PS4 Pro and installed it in the Pro when i got it. Works great and you will notice things do load faster.Just remember you will need to download the current firmware for PS4 (pro & original use same firmware) and it needs to be full firmware download (the one thats over 900mb) to setup the PS4 operating system. Use a USB and make sure you download the file directly into the folder itself (PS4 > UPDATE > then the file).Dont forget to do a system to system transfer if you have a PS4 already that has games and things on it. It will take a couple hours (around 2 or 3 hours usually), but if you play MMOs (FFXIV, Star Trek, Warframe, Elder Scrolls and so on) it will take longer unless you delete the games off your system before doing the system transfer. Thats because MMOs have a ton of files from always being updated and its just easier to redownload them from PSN.You can also use that same... 5/5 Bronxchulo - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent solution for PS4 users

So far so good! I'm a PS4 owner who was quickly running out of space thanks to those larger titles. Get used to it, they'll only get bigger and bigger as time goes on. I did run into a HECK of a lot of trouble getting the PS4 to initialize with this drive, so here's some tips that ultimately worked for me:- Download the FULL file from the Playstation site, mine was around 870 mb for the most current update. There's a much smaller file, around 400 mb I believe it was, that will NOT do the trick for a new HD.- Your drive must have 2 GB of free space and it must be FAT32. I tried this on a 1 GB FAT32 drive, no luck. Tried on a 500 GB external drive, but it wasn't FAT so no luck. Formatted that drive to FAT32 and finally had success.- Toss that 870+ mb file on the drive in a folder named UPDATE within PS4. So it should be Drive -> PS4 -> UPDATE -> fileBe sure to backup your PS4 as it definitely is a huge help especially in regards to system... 5/5 Ron - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great Price/performance ratio make this a great buy. For me consistently faster than FireCuda.

I ended up purchasing this drive after I received a defective and then poor performing replacement Firecuda 2TB. I was prepared to be disappointed after replacing my Caviar Black. I have to say while it is about 20 Mbps slower than the Caviar it is still very fast and very quiet, especially compared to the noisy WD drive. The 4K perfomance is pretty dismal, but in real world use I just don't see much difference. I am a gamer and use my PC as a small office server. So it is very fast with a Samsung EVO 850 primary drive, OCed 3570K, GTX 1060, Crucial Ballistex memory etc. The Caviar is clearly the best mechanical drive out there but at twice the price per MB I'm not sure it is worth the price. I guess the proof will be in the durablity and the drive does get warm with long and large data transfers.-----------------------------------------------------------------------CrystalDiskMark 5.1.2 x64 (C) 2007-2016 hiyohiyo Crystal Dew World : http://crystalmark.info/... 5/5 fraamus - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Bought this to replace the WD My Book 4TB which is full. One obvious issue is that the temperature kept rising with continuous access and I had to disconnect it at 55C (room at 22C), just 1C away from tripping the "BE Airflow Temperature". The Seagate specification states it worked up to 60C but I didn't push it because heat kills hard drives based on my experience. The triangular patterns on both sides aren't heat dispersing vents. Only the bottom and the rear are. Spent three hours to drill all the holes on both sides of the case but didn't help to lower the temperature at all. I have to run the drive w/o the plastic case for it to cool properly. Stick 4 rubber feet on the metal bracket so that the heat from the bottom can escape. Under the same condition, it stays at 42C. At room temperature 26C, the WD/Seagate have stayed at 45/49C respectively (42/44C with air circulation) after hours of copying from the WD to Seagate. It is surprising Seagate would... 2/5 Invisible Man - See all my reviews This review is from: Seagate Backup Plus 8TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 (STDT8000100) (Personal Computers) Bought this to replace the WD My Book 4TB which is full. Bought 2 new drives in March 2015, both have seriously and strangely malfunctioned.

[UPDATED Jan 21, 2016]I have many Seagate drives and will continue to buy them. But my particular experience with this 8TB drive bears reporting and is why I give it only 1 star.I bought 2 of these 8TB drives, here, in late March of 2015, brand new. One was for backup of the other. The drives were on a table top and never moved. The primary drive was used heavily most days, with many concurrent reads and writes, and synced up to the secondary drive at night. Both drives were safely detached and powered down each night, until used again. One morning last August 2015, when I connected the primary drive to my computer, Windows suddenly now says it is seeing a "ASMT 2115" USB Device. But my particular experience with this 8TB drive bears reporting and is why I give it only 1 star.I bought 2 of these 8TB drives, here, in late March of 2015, brand new. This replaced another Seagate hard drive that crashed, now 3 months later, of light use, it is dead!

1/5 Mike Alex - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seagate Backup Plus 5TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 (STDT5000100) (Personal Computers) I purchased this drive to replace another Seagate external hard drive that crashed. Luckily, with this one, I backed up all information onto another drive. However now I am left with yet another brick and this time it only lasted 3 months of very light use. I wish I did not have to live in fear of losing all of my files. Having to purchase multiple backups is getting very expensive. This company needs to build a more reliable product. Hopefully they will honor their limited warranty, but again another hassle to go through. I just want a working hard drive.
