The new Time Capsule is nice and fast. It'd be even faster if Apple fixed a problem in OS X that's hindering the router's file-transfer performance.

Great Shared Storage Drive For Mac & PC, Improved Internet Speed

In my household we have a MacBook Air, 2 PC's, 2 iPhones, and an iPad. For a long time I've wanted a shared storage drive that would always be on so all my computers and iOS devices could access it wirelessly at any time. The new Apple Time Capsule has finally given me that. In addition, the wireless internet speed of my network is 50% faster.NETWORK SET UPSetting up the Time Capsule for the internet was extremely easy. My iPad immediately recognized the Time Capsule after I connected it to the modem and plugged it in. On the iPad I created the network name and password. I also created a guest network name and password. The Time Capsule updated this and I was up and running. From pulling it out of the box to surfing the internet was less than 5 minutes.INTERNET SPEED TESTAfter I connected all my computers and iOS devices to the new network I did a speed test with the app Speedtest.net on my iPhone. I had an inexpensive Belkin wireless N router... 5/5 JJG - See all my reviews This review is from: Apple Time Capsule 2TB ME177LL/A [5th Generation] (Personal Computers) In my household we have a MacBook Air, 2 PC's, 2 iPhones, and an iPad. Team Apple FTW!

I bought this with my new ARRIS SB6183 cable modem and I am so happy with my purchase. My wireless speeds have been consistently above average - my initial Time Capsule backup was totally wireless and knocked it out in less that 8 hours compared to an entire day with my old external connected via USB.. With my old external, I had to do my backups manually.. Now, I'm getting a full-service backup when I don't even know it. When I'm ready to backup my backup, I can manually backup the external I have.I am completely satisfied with my purchase.. Another #TeamApple win..[Review for ARRIS SB6183]"I really don't write many reviews, but I took speed tests ahead of time just to prove to myself that I wasn't wasting my money (although, I [was] renting a 2-in-one modem/router from Comcast for $10/mos.). Worked as expected and did not mess up my network

5/5 Richard Hanson (California, USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Apple Time Capsule 3TB ME182LL/A [NEWEST VERSION] (Personal Computers) Worked as expected and is still working. It arrived with bridge-mode on (i.e., network hub/wi-fi turned off) which is good. Over five ago I bought a much older model which immediately become a hub and fought with my other hub for control of my network devices. Took me a while before I understood what was going on. I bought this one because the other one's hard drive, I think, is getting flaky (having to turn it off and back on to get it to connect). Amazingly simple to set up (and I'm big time technologically challenged!)

I was very nervous about setting this up, didn't want to have to spend hours on the phone with Apple Care, tech setups like this scare the big jeez outta me. But I had switch to this device because the NetGear router we had was not enough to carry the signal through the house. So I bought the Time Capsule to work as the router as well as a backup disc, along with two Airport Express stations to serve as network extenders to enhance the wi-fi signal in the house. From the time I opened the box to the time I had all three devices fully operational was probably 20 minutes! The set up couldn't have been simpler! If you are in the same shoes I was when considering this device, here's a quick summary of steps:1. Connect Time Capsule to ethernet cable coming from your cable or DSL box2. Connect printer or other USB device using USB jack3. Connect any other ethernet device that requires a hardwire (I had to connect my Vonage router and AT&T MicroCell)... 5/5 🎭 FreeSpirit - See all my reviews, October 26, 2012

Save money on a new Macbook / iMac by buying this 2TB Apple Time Capsule --- Read How >>>

Why did I buy the Apple Time Capsule?Recently I was in the market for a new Macbook Pro so I started doing a lot of research on specs and prices. I am sure you do the same thing with a big ticket item like that. First I looked on Apple's website, then here on Amazon where I found a better deal. I don't use eBay anymore because of the large number of scammers on there, but I'm sure there are very reputable sellers as well. If you feel comfortable there, then go for it.I decided to buy this particular Macbook Pro with a retina display: BTW, Amazing!!! Easy setup, the most reliable WiFi base station on the market

This new version of the Time Capsule is even better than the previous generation. The radio power on these new generation units has been almost doubled, and the reception has improved a lot in my home. They use a newer Broadcom chipset instead of Marvell. I have a 4th generation Airport Extreme (about a year old) that has worked flawlessly. I decided to add this Time Capsule as my primary NAT router to my network and move the Airport Extreme upstairs for better coverage.First of all, the setup was insanely easy, I plugged it in, connected it to my network, launched Airport Utility and it popped up right away, it offered to "setup from a previously configured Airport Extreme" and imported all of the settings automatically (SSID, mode, passphrase, IP reservation list, etc), that was awesome! It rebooted and everything was up and running in minutes.I also plugged an HP OfficeJet 7600 printer into the Time Capsule and it works perfectly. It was immediately visible... 5/5 Dano (San Jose, CA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)
